Uniprint QLD were approached towards the end of March by some marketing students at QUT asking if we could sponsor them by printing their sticker or packaging labels for an upcoming assessment piece. We also volunteered to design their stickers, which was another thing the student needed help with.
We were more than happy to help the particular students who approached us regarding the business they have created named Grounded & Co. Their product is coffee body scrubs which are available in 4 different ‘flavours’ initially.
The body scrubs will be sold in coffee bags (donated by another local company), with our printed packaging labels / stickers for branding. The students have 2 market days coming up where each group will have the opportunity to interact, market and actually sell their products. The first Market day is scheduled for Saturdays 13th and 20th May 2017, so come along and support the students if you don’t have any plans! There will be a range of different products on display and for sale which have all been created by the marketing students.
Keep an eye out for the group with a Uniprint logo on their shirts – That will be our team of students at Grounded and Co.
The marketing students showed great negotiation & pitching skills, asking how they could make the sponsorship arrangement a win win scenario that could be of benefit to Uniprint QLD. I suggested a back link from the QUT site would help cover our costs by helping us rank higher on the Google search results and thus generate more enquiry. My contact with the students named Jackalyn pitched the idea to her lecturer who came back and said that arrangement sounded great.
The packaging labels are in production now and will be ready and delivered with time to spare for the first market day on 13th May.
